On a recent holiday to Cornwall TT5 kept on trying to send me down minor B roads, at one time down a road with a 6 foot high bridge. these are impossible to me as I was towing a caravan at the time. I had tt5 set to the quickest journey with a maximum speed of 60mph. Is this a bug with TT5 as I did not get these problems with TT3?
On the same holiday I set TT to take me to Crowlas, it told me I had reached my destination 18(eighteen) miles before I had. As a further test I went to Crowlas and set TT to take me to Crowlas, it told me I had 18 miles to go. I have reported these faults to both TT and TeleAtlas but have not received any reply to present.

It's annoying isn't it? The routing algorithm is definitely not optimised like it was in TT3.

Best thing to do when TT5 has planned a route is to select "Route" to view the route listing and then manually avoid any dodgy looking B Roads.

Yeh - but if this version had been tested anything like properly we wouldnt need to do that.

I just navigated down to Leamington Spa from N Yorks and it took me along M1/M42/M40 to my destination.

I tried the reverse (but same) return journey and it selected an entirely different route using the A46/M69, despite the fact I was alongside the M40 entry slip.............20 miles longer. I tried to reoute it, but it still would not select the reverse of the journey I had just made, so I turned the silly thing off and just followed the signs - not really what i bought it for.

I have only been using it a week, but I have yet to be impressed... Rolling Eyes

if you towing a wobblebox then use limited speed, if set the speed to say 60 mph then choose fastest option it will plan you at fastest settings not at 60mph. as for sending you down a road with a 6ft bridge tt has never had an avoid low bridge setings it designe
for a car and nothing else if you use it in a larger vehicle you do so at your own risk if it takes you down a narrow lane which would be ok for a car and you have a van on the back then its not tts fault

if you plan a route and dont like the first route SUGGESTED then use alternative route or use the via feature
