Version 3.1 difficulties

1. Management of favourites. In another topic on this board I've found instructions on how to delete a favourite, but I can't find any mention of this in the User Manual, or any help with favourites. In 2.5 this was all a part of POI management, but now it’s separate and there’s no guidance on how to use it.

The quoted answer, which was obtained from ViaMichelin (they answered you ?!?), looks like an extracted text from a larger document. Could this be the elusive full User Manual for version 3.1 ?

2. How can I delete a route ? The software remembers the last route calculated, or at least the last arrival and departure points, but I can't figure out how to simply remove these and start with a clean map. This was a specific function in 2.5.

3. When I select Driving Instructions, the up and down arrows allow me to follow the route step-by-step, but how can I skip up and down ? In 2.5 a slide bar was used to advance or return, but now there are only the step arrows.

Any help with these points would be appreciated. Thanks.

The only manual for v3 is what they call the Installation Guide http://www.shop.viamichelin.com/csasp_showedito.asp?menuID=14 which needs to be used in conjunction with the Installation Guide for v2.5 to get the Mapstore part

On points 2 and 3 these are just "enhancements" along with no longer being able to run in Navigation mode with no destination set so that you can have speed camera alerts without directions, which we all have to live with. It would be really helpful to be able to print both map and driving directions as well but you can't do this either

Thank you for the reference for POI management, but I was asking about Favourites (my saved items) management not POI management.

In version 3.1 these are different items. It may be that they’re treated in the same way, but this is not made clear in the manual. The new manual, whatever it may be called, doesn’t tell me anything about favourites (or saved items), but only explains about POI. Previously this didn’t matter because your personal saved items were only another category of POI, but now they’re on the menus as completely separate entries, so I expect to find something in the user manual on the subject.

Concerning my two other points, the conclusion seems to be that the “enhancements” of version 3, are in fact loss of functionality. More and more version 3 begins to look like a downgrade instead of an upgrade.

POIs and Favourites are indeed the same thing, the former are those imported from external databases or included with the software and are in fact not deleteable within the Mapsonic whilst Favourites are user added within the software and managed as described

It still does not excuse the poor qulaity manuals though
