SiRF Firmware version...

maybe it has been asked a thousand times, but I cannot find a link in THIS forum that shows how you find firmware details for a GPS (either connected to a PC or a PocketPC)

please DO NOT point me to the related gpspassion link since I am... banned from there (didn't really understand why, but I really won't bother finding out)

anyway, if someone can help me on what do I do to get the firmware version?

(I have SiRFdemo 3.61 btw... I should use this? is this the latest?)

use SirfDemo, connect to the device, switch it to Sirf mode, and the firmware will be shown in the caption of the SirfDemo window.

yes I figured it out in the meantime, but the problem is that my device (Haicom HI-303III) doesn't switch to SiRF (a lock or something?)

"luckily" enough I DID see a version string sometime (IN NMEA mode!) and it was 3.1.1
