V2.22 hangs or exits in map mode

I often use the map view (not the navigator map) at home without the GPS to find addresses and locations and add them as favourites.



I notice that with V2.22 TTN oftens exits silently or freezes the PPC while in this mode, usually when I try to drag the map.



This might be an issue with a bad sector on the CF card, except that the behavior is not consistent. I can reset and go back to the same area and it will work fine.

Ah! Strangely enough this has been a problem going way way back to the original CityMaps and RoutePlanner. It's not been seen for a while, but Duncan and myself saw it recently in 2.22. I think it's still been there, it's just that people haven't found it. What happens is that when dragging the map around on screen, sometimes it can use up a lot of processor utilisation, and you'll sometimes see it not redraw the map, or it will draw it in bits, very slowly. When this starts to happen, starting to drag the map more before it's settled down can cause TTN to exit without prompt. This was around on CityMaps, RoutePlanner and also TTN1.

I've see this problem with dragging the map too.



For me this happens sometimes when I've turned the PPC off while TTN2 is open and it then happens when I turn it back on



The map will move but there a zigzag pieces not aligned on the screen.



A restart of TTN2 sorts it out
