Given the TT Bluetooth GPS is apparently extremely sensitive (eg can be used in the glove box etc) would it be possible for the Go 500 and 700 to support it if TT update their software?

technically possible but highly unlikely. It's much easier to upgrade the GO GPS receiver to SiRF III

Well, it's not *that* easy if you've just released a new range of products... unless of course you REALLY want to p*ss off your customers ;)

Everything is possible when TT updates their code.

If someone has no problems voiding the warranty of the new GO and that of a new SIrfStarIII GPS (cable) mouse, one could separate the receiver, separate the GO and then cut off the data-connector of the internal SIrfStarII chip. It might be possible to wire the receiver from the module with the GO, as both receivers use the same protocol and data-lines.

Would be an interesting task, whether the GO firmware would accept that alien as it's own breed.

Hi Guys,

Pardon my ignorance as a new user. So far I have found the current GPS on the TT (500) completely adequate. GPS lock is quick and it is accurate enough to get me from one place to another without any problems. Smile

What is the difference between the SIrfStarII & SIrfStarIII, and why would anybody want to go through the trouble to solder in and replace the current GPS unit. Question
