Hi
I have just joined this forum after looking round for the last few days for someone that has the same problem as me, but it just seems that I am on me own
So here we go then, I have just changed from tomtom3 up to the latest 5 version, I am using a mitac 168 that worked like a dream with version 3 and checkpoint. With v5 it seems that there are so many problems but the worst one for me and the one that no one else seems to have is the fact that when I ask it to navigate to the nearest poi it just crashes!!
now the thing is that it seems to depend on the poi that you ask it to nav to. I ask it to take me to the nearest beach and BOSH!! I am looking at the desktop the same for the nearest cashpoint, but this isn't the case for all the poi's.
Please tell me someone else has the same problem coz frankly tomtom are taking the with this release, also I don't get any sound with the warnings either even after setting them up.
So... to recap yeah that's right I have a piece of software that wont take me to the nearest poi and the camera detection software doesn't work either, GREAT!!!! really usefull.
Please help tomtom 3 is waiting for it's job back here. :x :x :x

There are so many different posts now on this topic. Try the "Sticky: Bug Collection for TTN5" for a start or search for "No POI found".

AHHHH
Well now I have managed to aquire the poi.dat from tt3 and that's done the trick, only the warning sounds that don't work now, but maybe that's connected to the poi thing???
thanx for you pointer

The speed camera warnings are in a custom POI file and these normally all work fine.
The poi.dat bug only affects the built in POI's.

well at least the old poi.dat file has made this software useable.
I am a field service engineer so I will see if this has made any difference to the sound warning tomorrow and report back
