I have it running on a Pocket PC (HP Ipaq 1710 set) which works perfectly however I am a bit annoyed that the only way I can connect the GPS receiver is via the Holster that attaches to the windscreen.

Ideally I would like to use this without my car too, like for walking around London etc but the GPS received does not connect to the Ipaq directly and I am assuming the receiver is the type that is not powered by the Ipaq either and will need an external power supply as when I go to use it in the car it won't work unless the cigarette lighter plug is plugged in.

Is there an alternative receiver I can use? (Not too big)
Or can someone point me in the direction of a good mobile phone with this capability?

Many thanks!

You could get an SD GPS but you wont not have anywhere to put the maps on. Tbh sounds like you bought the wrong package. Somthing like the Mitac 168 or iPAQ 6515 which has the GPS antenna attached to the PDA would have been a better solution for you.

For the iPAQ 6515

Thanks mate,

Well I went and returned it and got an XDAIIi as it has bluetooth (got the tomtom bluetooth receiver) and wifi/gprs so I can access my emails on the move.

A much more practical piece of kit Smile
