I have a nokia 7610 with tomtom on it. I have been trying to setup the tomtom using a polstar pbt-111 bluetooth reciever and had no sucess. Here is what i have managed to do so far. Fistly i download a GPS test tool for PC/Laptop from the Polstar website. Then i switch on the polstar and found connected the polstar to my pc via bluetooth connection. Then i paired the polstar to my pc and entered pin code 0000. Then i connected spp slave and it tells me serial port com 9 is configured. Then i went onto the GPS tester tool and set it to Com 9 (because that is the only com it will work on) and turn it on. Then loads on numbers and about six blue circles appeared on the screen. I dont know what any of this means or is for. At this time both the blue and red light on the polstar are solid. Now swith off the GPS (to allow my phone to connect via bluetooth) and connect my phone to the polstar. Then i have to enter a pin code 0000. After this i change the name of the polster to (TOMTOM Wireless GPS). Then i load the tomtom and it saids no vaid GPS signal found. Can anyone help me i am new to all this.

I have the same problem with the nokia 6630 when using the polstar PBT-111. Have you found a solution?

why do you change the name. when configuring the gps, why don't you use the "other gps receiver" option?

Hi,

I can solve part of your query. I use a Polstar PBT-111 with my IPAQ and Destinator PN but the Polstar test program works as follows. The six blue circles are indicating the satellites that the unit has currently current acquired in relation to your location. There are also up to 12 blue bars at the bottom of the display indicating signal strength. The other numbers are Latitude, Longtitude, current speed, current compass heading and current height above sea level. The solid blue light on the Polstar is the bluetooth connection indicator and tells you that you have a connection. The solid red light at the front tells you that the Polstar has locked onto one or more satellites. If the red light is flashing then the unit is still searching.
That's as far as I can go as I don't use it with a mobile phone. I have it with my IPAQ 2210 using DestinatorPN and it is awesome.
