Where did you transfer the Files to? They should be in the Map Folder.

When the TTG is connected to the PC, can you see the files in the Map Folder?

The Voice Files that are mentioned are about 1MB each. They are each made up of a Dataxx.chk and a .vif file.

In V5 you can go into Preferences and under Change Voice you have the option to Delete Voices. Just leave the one you want selected.

Have you downloaded lots of other Points of Interest categories? The GO will only see the first 27 you add.

Hi gstreat,

Is your TomTom GO 300 working properly without the speed camera database?

Which country are you in, and would you please update your profile?

Have you fully backed up the SD card so that software, map data, and custom POIs are recoverable if you have a problem?

Regards,

Hi gstreat,

Before we do anything more, we need to ensure that you have a viable full backup of your SD card. The CD that comes with the TomTom Go 300 does not contain the map data.

When you connect the TomTom Go 300 to your PC, using the USB cable, the GO acts like a card reader/writer with the SD card becoming a new drive that can be seen by Windows Explorer.

You need to ensure that your Windows Explorer will copy all hidden and system files, and then create a new folder on your PC’s hard drive and then copy everything from the TomTom GO to the new folder.

If you have a larger SD card than the original one that came with the GO that you can use then now is an ideal time to use it and keep the original as the ultimate backup!

Regards,
