I had read on another post that TTN 5 when used in Route Demo mode did not demo further than 80 miles. I planned a 135 mile route to try this out - sure enough it stopped at 80 miles and returned me back to the beginning of the demo. Surely the demo should continue for the whole of the route?
Does Pocket GPS have any info on this for us? |

This is a marketing feature. It works as designed. Get over it... Nothing we can do about it.

Lutz,
I have spoken to TomTom Support about this issue, and they are surprised about it - they did not know of its existance. They have invited me to e-mail them about it - and I have. Will let the forum know of any reply.
My opinion is that it should not be included in the feature set if it is only a crippled marketing feature. It would be useful in its crippled format if it was in the form of a flash demo on their web site to demonstrate TTN5 in action, but not in the feature set of the product. |

TomTom support were surprised? That's funny. Their information retention time seems to be pretty short. We've been telling them about this over and over again. On the other side it's also cool for them - they can learn new things every day...

I have read a previous forum post on Pocket GPS web site (by one of the site's Moderators, nickname "Oldboy") that the Route Demo feature in TomTom Navigator version 5 limits you to viewing only approximately 80 miles of the route. I thought I would try it out for myself, so I planned a route of 135 miles and started up the Route Demo. Sure enough with approximately 50+ miles to go the Route Demo stopped and returned me to the start so it could begin the demo again. Surely this cannot be how it is supposed to behave?
Please check this out for me and let me know if and when it is going to be fixed in an update.
