TT5 set-up query

I took the plunge and ordered TT5 last week. It arrived today and after some initial pain trying to install it everything seems to be fine.
Yes there are certainly features in TT3 that they should have retained but I am certainly gonna give this version a chance before I make final judgements.
My question:
When I first started the application i was asked a series of set up questions e.g language etc.
I believe I was also asked how I would like the instructions issued, and I foolishly ended up with my display now showing a counting down of the distance to my next voice instruction instead of distance to my next manouvre.
Am i going crazy but I can't find anywhere in the menus to change this option or have I got it wrong and this is now normal.
In TT3 I always kept an eye on the distance to my next turn because of the lack of notice from the voice instructions but now this is not always possible and the display is mis leading me.
I do a lot of driving in cities like London so the distance to manouvre is a major need for me.
Can anyone help or is it a re-install ?
