Not sure what you mean by zoned files ?

I presume you mean the speed zoned files.

These can be used instead of the normal gatso etc files.

The difference is that these speed zoned POI display the actual speed limit in force where the camera is located.

But beware that the database is often out of date, and some speed restrictions have been removed.

For example 50mph on the M42 near J6 is now 70mph as the roadworks have finished.

There is nothing more annoying than people slamming their brakes on for no reason !

If you want reliable information then buy yourself a Road Angel or Origin B2.

I agree that road angel / origin B2 is more reliable; they are also £350+ more expensive!!! TBH I had an Origin B2 and after a while of comparing it with speed camera files found them to be about 90-95% accurate. This is quite good for free so I sold the Origin B2 and have never looked back......

Have I got it right then, you load these files instead of the standard ones and normally if you were in a 30 limit and approached a gatso it would tell you - same thing in say a 60 limit. But if you use the zoned POI's instead it would give you one alert for a 30 limit and another different one for the 60 limit.

Hi cyberkid999,

Are you using the PocketGPSWorld camera database? If you are, have you read the guide? It should answer your questions about the zoned files. Thumbs Up

Yes, I am using the PocketGPSWorld files, but I also use my Road Angel.

Do I just need to send the updated file ?
