Where does the antenna plug into?

Hi Everyone, (first post).

I have a couple of older Magellans 3000XL & 4000XL (97yr models).
I have the modules (pn 69007), that have the power/data cables comning out the bottom of these modules, and you are supposed to be able to plug in an antenna into them?

Where does the antenna plug into these modules?

There is a blank plastic hole (nothing in it) on one side and the cable/wire coming out the other hole of each of these modules. No antenna fittings/plugs can be found in these modules.

I checked the inside of the GPS and found what looks like an antenna fitting ?(brass looking and very small) on the right side of the battery compartment. There is no information about the antenna coupler size, etc.

What size is this antenna plug and how do you attach the antenna, drill out the empty plug hole and run the antenna cable thru the hole to attach it inside? Don't look right to me?

I thought I would ask some one that would know, before I blew something up or destroyed the gps,etc. The kids would be very upset if dad destroyed their gifts/presents they had given him.


I want to be able to mount this gps along with an external antenna and have it powered by my atv while riding it for mapping new road systems.

Am I going about this the right way?
I would appreciate any and all information.
