Hi,
New to pocket pc's etc, not too clever at all.
I have recently got tom tom and I have put the maps and software onto my pocket pc.
When i go to use it it asks for an activation code, I type it in, and it says it is invalid for great britain maps.
I have got a different code from a friend who has the same system, and that doesnt even register as a correct code. Can anyone help me quickly please.
Thanks
Mark

If you bought it from TomTom or a recognised dealer, you should get back to them.
If you bought it second hand, you are not authorised to use it on any machine except the one on which it was originally installed.

sorry, but this doesn't sound like you have a legal version. We can't support you with that. _________________ Lutz

I think it may be a general issue with the forthcoming upgrade as I had the same issue as have a number of other people who have posted on the forum.
If you email tomtom with details of the purchase they will supply a correct product code, I got mine back within a couple of working hours.
good luck |

How would you call that? Legal? _________________ Lutz

to see if his code would work as the code from my cd case did not work.
2 fingered salute to u!
it must be embarrassing when you say something is dodgy, then another forum user says it has happened quite a lot recently. |

No, that's actually fine. After he mentioned it I also remembered that there were cases of this before. I have no problem to admit that.
However your approach to use a friend's code is illegal, and could well have resulted in your friend losing his activation options altogether.
So please contact TomTom to get a new product code for your rightfully purchased copy but please do not use other people's code for any experiments that could backfire. _________________ Lutz
