I've been having no luck in getting my Go 300 to connect to the internet through my p910i and would appreciate any pointers.

It pairs with the phone no problem, then asks for network settings (Contract Vodafone in the UK), then says it can't connect.

So, I go for the manual option, entering in the appropriate APN ("internet" for vodafone) and user/pwd ("web" & "web), dial with *99# and leave the login script blank.

And still, the phone shows that a connection is being made, but then nothing more and it times out on both sides.

So, has anyone succeeded going down the manual route with a p910i?

Thanks in advance.

If its Vodafone branded and locked there is a known problem getting it to work with the Go. Mine is unbranded and works fine, but Vodafone locked versions appear to stop the Go creating the new internet access profile it insists on creating. Basically you will need to get the phone unlocked.

Interesting, thanks. Read through the other forum's thread.

My p910i is a vodafone branded version, but it is unlocked as I've used Orange sims in it as well.

So it would seem, outside of getting a completely new phone, there's not much choice if you are unlucky enough to have a vodafone branded version.

Please prove me wrong though...

I'd imagine you could always get your phone debranded.

The only other thought is that maybe its a problem with a particular firmware revision - which of course would manifest itself by being Vodafone branded.
What firmware revision is your P910i running? (Organiser version and bluetooth version too)?

Very hard to 'de-brand' these phones as far as I understand. I know that the startup Vodafone logo is apparantly impossible to remove, so if that implies the only immovable branding I don't know.

Firmware could be a possibility, but then it's the most recent firmware from the SonyEricsson website. I'm running the following versions:
Phone - CXC162042 R4D006
Bluetooth - CXC162028/1 R2F
Organiser - CXC162041 R4A10
CDA - CDA162006/16 R4A01

I think these are the most recent and tend to be operator independant.

Same versions as mine other than the CDA number of course. Must be something to do with the Voda customisation.
Best bet is to speak to Voda and ask them if they can do anything as its clearly their problem with something they are locking down on the phone.
