I have just upgraded to 5.10 without any bother and I did not need to reactivate my MOWE either?
Anyway can you guys try this route for me as it makes no sense?
Start from NN10 8NB and go to Canterbury Catherdral.
It says part way through the route the following:
52:00 M11
06:35 A406/M11/J4
01:45 Unamed road
00:35 A12
40:20 M2
22:35 M2 J7
00:20 A2
then the rest leads to Canterbury.
This makes no sense to me as the A12 on my paper map is no where near the M2 but the A2 is.
Has the Go gone bonkers? This route seems to take me into London and appears to be going to get me lost??

You're quite right that the text listing of the route is wrong and does not correspond to the map view of the calculated route, a bug that should be notified to TomTom.
But the reason it's taking you into London is because you chose not to pay the pound to cross the Queen Elizabeth Bridge (i.e Congestion Charge in TomTom language). |

It sounds like you have avoid toll roads switched on so it's avoiding the Dartford crossing and routing via the North Circular (A406) and the Blackwall Tunnel then the A2 towards Dover. |

The text listing is right in that after joining the A12 in 30 miles join the M2. It's just the roads between those two that are missing, although I suspect you would get directional commands in that time. _________________ Richard

Thanks chaps I understand now.
When I select not to avoid toll roads it puts me on the M25 which I want to avoid really unless any of you can say that it is not a car park at about 8:00am on saturdays?
When I say find alternate route for that part it puts me onto the North Circular?
I need to get to Canterbury for about 9:30am - 10:00am.
The last thing I want is to be stuck on M25 or stuck in London! |

If you Plan A-B it will give a journey time, take that away from 9:30 should give a reasonable ETA. Subject to major holdups _________________ Richard

@HOG
We frequently use this bit of M25 clockwise on weekend mornings and it's normally not busy. What does happen in this neck of the woods is that the locals like their retail therapy and will queue in the inside lane to get into retail parks, one just before the Dartford crossing, and then Blue Water on the A2 on the other side, so keep clear of lane 1 in those areas. What really screws up, usually around Christmas, is when shoppers don't realise why the 2 mile queue is there, and then stop in the middle lane with the left indicator on, trying to pull in to join the queue. This then baulks the HGVs, who can't use lane 3 etc. I don't think this would be tolerated on the M1 by our Midland traffic police 8O |

Check the traffic reports before you go and then decide.
I would lean towards taking the M25 route though, there are a lot of arbitarily low 40/50 speed limits (and cameras) on the dual carriageways on the other route and the Blackwall tunnel is prone to delays during busy times. _________________ Gone fishing! |
