is there any way of entering multiple destinations into the go and letting it work which destinations to visit in a logical order rather than following the order in which you entered the destinations.

No, you cannot do this. There are a number of threads on this on various forums (search for "travelling salesman"!). General opinion is that the GO doesn't have the computing power to work on such a problems (although whether that's still true with the 700 I am not sure)
