Hi,
Went to us my HP 2210 with TOM TOM 3.07 today, when I swithed the PDA on all signs of TOM TOM had vanished. It was almost like I had reset the whole thing to factory settings. I only used it 5 days ago and all was fine!!!!!!!!
Any ideas.
PS I have had to reinstall everything. |

This is the time when people seriously start to consider doing backups.
Set everything up so it works as you need, then do a backup onto storage card. If stuff like this happens again, simply restore the setup. _________________ Lutz

Did your battery get flat?
Take a serious look at Sprite back-up software. You can restore within a couple of mins with this. Costs $10-$15. You will have problems with the standard back-up programme on the 2210.....

Thanks for the replies.
The biggest concern I have is why it actually lost the info. Would it happen if the battery was flat?

I've had this happen to me a couple of times. Once when I'd forgotten to turn my 2210 off before taking out the card. Another time when I was a bit rough putting the 2210 into the cradle in my car. I have no idea why it happened, but in each case when I turned the 2210 on, it was as if I was turning it on for the first time - asking me to calibrate the screen, set the date and time, etc. Once I'd answered all questions, I appeared to have a clean system - with no TomTom, empty calendar, etc.
Luckily I already have Sprite Backup, and have been taking daily backups. A quick restore got be back in business.
I can thoroughly recommend Sprite Backup.
Unfortunately, if you don't have this, I don't know what you can do Sorry. _________________ Geraint
