..for anyone wondering which navigation unit to buy out of these two particular units here's my "points of difference"

The tt is not one to carry about with you, frankly its bulky so once you've finished your journey god knows what you do with it! Probably store it in a carry bag or suitcase I suppose. 1-0 to the 510

The tt is a breeze to use, wonderfully intuative and the full postcode entry is a huge plus, however the difference in finding an address between the two is around 20 seconds so not a massive difference. 1-1

The voice commands on the tt is certainly louder and of better quality, but it seems to me that the cheapness of the 510's in built seems to make the voice cut through cabin noise better but we have to give it to the GO..1-2

The maps on the 510 are definitely better looking than the go and are easier to follow even though the screen is fractionally larger on the go.
Turn off the autozoom on the navman and muck about with the screen colours and its a solid goal for the 510..2-2

Both do their job admirably with regard to finding their targets, however the 510s receiver is the stronger of the two even working with cars that have athermic and heated windscreens and for that alone the 510 sneaks a deserved third! 3-2

Both have custom poi's and both can use downloadable databases but the go is definately easier to put them on to. However the navman has more memory on its card so more can be stuck on to 510 than the go..even steven..4-3

In my experience the navman is the most reliable unit to own, having access to the other most popular units. Indeed our so far only tt go came back faulty after a matter of days as opposed to 90 510's and only 1 unit with a proven hardware fault! So definitely 510's goal. 5-3

The bluetooth facility of the go in conjuction with tt plus is a major plus point if you feel you need them, even though they come at a price it's still a step in the right direction, as opposed to nothing extra on the 510 and with no sign of more to come from navman. 5-4

So who wins..well you pays your money and takes your chance but in nutshell if you need some sort of portability the 510 is the one. But if it remains in situ and the purchaser isn't that computer literate then the go is a wonderful toy to use..simplicity itself. Me?.. well the 510 would shade it..but if anyone would like to donate their go...wouldn't say no!!

..Hope this may help any undecided voters!

Just to point out that the Plus map of the GO is similar in concept to the European basemap provided as standard with the 510.
