OK so I have decided to go for a gps system in my car on my O2 XDAII as I already have it mounted as a phone... but I have no idea what GPS receiver to go for... ideally I would like to run it off the extra cigar lighter in the boot and leave it plugged in and forget about it ... but I am concerned about leaving it plugged in and on and therefore draining the battery. Is this somethng I should be concerned about? Is there a decent GPS receiver that auto switches off when the paired device is out of range? Is that even possible?

The Garmin GPS10 I have can be set to automatically power on when it gets a 12V feed, which I find very handy. I also have a Navman 4100 BT receiver which I think powers off after three minutes of losing its connection to the paired device.
