Hi, I'm not yet a Fugawi owner but am thinking of getting Fugawi 3. (and yes, I've only just got the joke name...)

If i scan in (on my litle A4 scanner) a large map in several bites, does Fugawi stitch the maps together so on the PC it appears as one seamless sheet again?

Thanks,
dave

Hi Dave,

I'm not (yet) a Fugawi owner either, but I've been trying the free demo (20 Mbytes) from their website:

http://www.fugawi.com/docs/navfugawi.html#fgdemo

I haven't tried joining maps (as my interest is in the UK version) but I think that's what it's supposed to do. However, with calibration errors, etc., I wonder if the join can be really "invisible".

Fugawi aren't very informative, but the demo is valid for 30 days, and also throws you out after each hour of use. Some features seem to be "greyed out" and I can't find the PPC or 3D facilities anywhere. It also crashes whenever I try to transfer tracks or waypoints from my GPS, so I hope that's also a "feature" of the demo version! However, you can read in scanned maps and download several types of free elevation data from other websites, as they explain in their help files, which seems to work well.

Cheers, Alan.

Thanks Alan, I'm having a play with the demo and I'll see how I get on.
