Navigating to a town

Is it possible to change a settings on TomTom Mobile so that I just put in a town Say Buxton, and not an entire street name & number. Often I just want to visit a place not a specific address & being forced to look for a street name seems mad !

If you enter the town name again in the street field this will do what you want - it will navigate you to the town center.
