SPV M2000 + Fortuna U2 GPS

I have just replaced a damaged IPAQ 5550 with an SPV M2000 and am trying to get my Fortuna U2 GPS working with it. I ordered a replacement cable to connect the PPC to the GPS but have been unable to get the M2000 to see the GPS. I am also getting an error that comm 1 does not exist and I believe most PDA's refer to the connector on the base of the unit as comm 1.

THere are no other programs running as far as I can see that could be using the comm port so wondered if any body else has had this problem.

If you have got this combination working could you let me know how?

Not to sure how I managed to post this into this forum as I thought it was going in the beginners lounge.

I have solved the problem above, the answer was out there I just couldnt see it. Turn off ibeam in the connection settings and comm 1 reappears and now every thing is working as it should.
