In the press release on tomtom.com over navigator 5 stays a list with all pda who are compatible with navigator 5. The mio 168 stays not on the list.
Knows somebody why(is tomtom the mio 168 forgotten or is the mio 168
not compatible.

Thanks for you answer and greetings from the netherlands!

Right now the official statement from TomTom is that only serial and Bluetooth receivers are supported. This means no CF/SD, jacket, or integrated receivers. Let's hope the release version of TTN 5 will not have that limitation.

There is a workaround though - you can specify "Other BT receiver" in the setup and then select your COM port. May work, may not work...

I wasnt told this.

For example I am looking at the HP 2110. I was told that this would be compatible no matter what GPS device was used (in my case I would prefer CF adapter).

I thought TT 2004 and TT 5 were different releases?!?

Anyway, TT support confirmed that the HP 2110 and CF receiever would work with the upcoming UK release.

Here's the official response from TomTom on this, it's not all bad news!:-

--------------------
The compatibility list is not yet comprehensive as testing is still
ongoing so keep an eye on our website in the weeks to come.

Well it is bad news,
Here is what they said when asked Support about the mio 168

Correct. We do not expect to release a version of our software that will be compatible with the Mio 168. Please let us know if we can further assist you.

Regards,

Unless you - the users - help us to tell TomTom that this is not acceptable this will not happen. Let's keep bugging them and demanding that they include compatibility for non-serial/BT receivers.

Let's be realistic here, the Mio168 is a very very popular choice and has sold by the pallet load. It is highly improbable that it will not be supported.
