will the camera database work with the navtech system? it has the POI but i do not know if it is customisable

Do you mean Navman? Navtech is just the map provider, not the application vendor.

I have a LandRover Freelander with a built in Sat Nav the software (CD disk is from NavTech) no Navman is this of help. The CD has to always be in the unit for it to read the maps.

in-car systems are normally not upgradeable, and you will probably also not be able to add your own POIs in a systemic way.

So short of entering all the camera locations manually (eww!) the only solution would be to dump the in-car system and go for a pocket pc based solution!
