Please , who can help me with the BT-update for my IPAQ 2210 with Fortuna Clip-On receiver? When I have a connection via bluetooth the connection gets lost after about 5 minutes and I have to make a new bluetooth connection each 5 minutes with my Fortuna.

Thank you

I have major issues with my H2210 and fortuna BT clipon.

Will work for an hour or so then lock up every 10 mins for hours on end. Sometimes I have to soft reset the PDA a few times PLUS turn the gps on and off repeatedly just to get a connection (then it locks up again).

It's no good for a long journey so I rarely use TTN any more. Will probably buy the new TT GO when it's out as I'm sure that must be more reliable.

BT issues such as these are invariably a result of storing maps on SD. This is a known issue with the 2210. The solution is to store maps on CF. The causes have been discussed in depth many times so I won't bother with them here but moving maps to CF resolves the problem completely.

Hi Darren,

I have indeed read that although have not yet tried it. 50% of the time I can't even get an initial BT connection to my clipon so assumed it must be a different hardware problem. There was a time i could reliably get it to connect by sliding between ST & XT modes (and waiting 10 secs) but that no longer seems to work unfortunately. XT mode conencts far more than ST does.

Will have a go at the cf card trick.

I have discovered the cure for my problems! My main problem was that more often than not my clipon would not connect to my H2210 full stop (even from BT manager and no gps apps open). Lockups in TTN were doubly annoying as they would 'break' the connection that took me 15 mins to establish.

I was getting utterly fed up with the little beast last night after 10 mins of no conenction and decided I would have to buy a new unit. If I had a hammer at the time I might have hit it with it Twisted Evil but instead I grabbed the little on/off switch in anger and forcefully moved it on and off about 10 times. On letting go the BT conenction suddenly came on. I have retested this numerous times now and I can turn off the GPS OR the iPAQ (without previously stopping the BT connection) and when I switch it back on again, if it does lockup then a quick waggle of the on/off switch and it comes back again. :P

The other thing I have found REALLY helps stabilise the connection (and automatically re-establishing it) while using GPS apps is the GPSGate utility from Franson as per this thread: Great little app and well worth getting http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=18303&view=next

Try the download suggested on this forum.

I have the same setup (HP2210 - Fortuna Clip-On - TT3) and had exactly the same issue. BT Tweaker solves the annoying disconnection problem by automatically reconnecting to your BT device.

Hope this helps Question
