Hi I'm new to GPS so this may be a silly question. I have just received a Globalsat BT-338 Bluetooth GPS Receiver which is set up and working with my Ipaq 4150.
At present I have no navigation software installed (That's a question for a different time), so am currently testing the receiver with the basic software provided.
My question then is about the baud rate setting. I understand it relates to data transfer rates but should I set it higher or lower? I have options ranging from 1200 to 115200.
Thanks in advance

Try 4800 as that is a "standard" nmea speed. If not, could be anything really - but I'd try 38400 next.

38400 tends to be the standard for Bluetooth GPSes - if not, try 4800. (Basically, I'm reversing nej's answer!).

It's unusual for other speeds to be used as the default, apart from me remembering faintly that certain Navman products may use 57600.

I must admit that I didn't read it carefully and didn't pay much attention to the bluetooth bit! My fortuna runs at 38400, so I'll change and agree with David!

Thanks for the responses. It seems to work on both so I will just have to see which works best.
