hi,
does anyone know the GPS settings in order to get the Ambicom Ambeon Bluetooth GPS device working in tomtom3?
im used to tomtom but cant get my new gps device to start hunting for the sats.
the gps is installed in the bluetooth setting ok.. just tomtom wont start it.
any ideas??

I don't know for sure for this particular Bluetooth GPS, but normally choosing NMEA 0183 Bluetooth and your outgoing Bluetooth COM port in TomTom GPS is all that's needed.
Be aware that recent devices, especially those running Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition, tend not to work properly until you upgrade to TomTom GPS 3.07 (which can be found on the TomTom web site, or on the update CD if you have one of those in your Navigator 3 pack).

hi david,
thanks for the reply..
ok i've updated tomtom, v3.07 (442) uk
still not happening, a friend has a tomtom bluetooth device..
this connects and scans for sats instantly
but my ambeon one doesnt
it has to be a setting somewhere... model number is BT112a-gps
any other ideas i can try, its got me stumped.

it doesnt matter, its a crock of ****, i've took it back and i'm going to buy a proper tomtom one off ebay. cheers anyway. |
