|
Hi
I am considering changing my GPS software from CoPilot to Tom Tom.
Will my GPS receiver be compatible or will I have to buy a receiver that is 'matched' to Tom Toms software?
Any advice would be appreciated. |

This depends on the receiver.
TomTom 3 is compatible with any receiver that speaks NMEA
TomTom 4 is officially not supporting CF, SD, built-in or jacket GPS receivers (but can be made to work)
TomTom 5 is again compatible with any NMEA receiver
TomTom Mobile 4 - need the latest patch to work with any BT receiver
With high probability you should be ok. _________________ Lutz

Hi
I am considering switching from CoPilot to Tom Tom as I have lost maps on my SD version of CoPilot live and ALK just don't want to know.
I have access to a version 2.24 of Tom Tom to use as a trial, but my GPS receiver is 'badged' as CoPilot as it came 'bundled' with my CoPilot 4 software. |

That will work no problem (well, your problem will be the very old maps) _________________ Lutz
