OK, I think Ive finally decided on ttm with a c500.

Thing is, Ive seen a lot of post from people asking for solutions etc but not much feedback.

So people who have ttm on c500 ....what do you say?- a recomended option? Im driving all over the place surfing and not relying on a map would be great. Im thinking your all out all the time enjoying your ttm or you threw it away....

anyways, be good to hear :D

Best thing Ive bought, or seen for the c500 an absolute must you will not regret it!

Works a dream, very simple and never have to have an arguement with the Misses in the car again (well at least not about which way is north on a map!)

Totally agree with previous guy, (and i aint argued with his missis either Smile ) Imo there nothing to touch the C500 in the market the phone is in. It works seemlingsly with tom tom and sets it self up automcatically. If you have a blue tooth headset they both work together with no glichs. It takes up nearly 120 meg of storage card so you might want to invest in a 256 mb card or 512mb to be future prove. You may need the extra space as i recommend you install any additional programs onto the storage card and keep the phone memory for use by the phone.

No Tom tom dont support the c500 yet u have to copy the file structure over to your existing mini sd card then download the traffic update which allows u to use the software on the c500. You dont need to subscribe to traffic tho just install the plugin.

Assuming you're happy with the C500 then a resounding yes, definitely worth it.

Now i've had the C500 for a few weeks I'm generally not as happy with it as I first imagined, it's just too slow to do much with it and I think I'm going to go with an XDA or something similar instead.....

PCB007 This is great news for me as I was not aware that there were any phones out there capable of maintaining two bluetooth connections at the same time. Is this something that is unique to the C500 or is this common now with most bluetooth phones?

No i beleive the noika does not support multiple connections at the same time. Pretty sure with the 6600 if u want to use Tom Tom you cant use bluetooth headset at same time and vice versa. Paul

I am looking for a GPS solution for my car
I have an SPV C500
Up until now I thought my only optoion was the CoPilot software and bluetooth receiver @ £210 approx.

TomTomMobile :
where would I get this and does it come with a bluetooth GPS receiver?
How much is the solution in total to add to my existing SPV?
Question
cheers

Ian

There ya go.Bear in mind you have to downlaod the traffic update so that it works on the c500 (as the c500 is not supported by tom tom) but once its downloaded and installed it runs fine, and to be honest is the best peice of software i have bought 4 my mobile in years.

Thanks

Brilliantly quick response

OK dumb question time - where do you go to download the traffic update you mentioned?
Is it on the TomTom Website?
What does it do to make this work with the C500?
Does it cost extra?

thanx

Ian

Yeah to be honest that was a dumb question Smile You download it from Tom Tom. With the Tom Tom you will get a reg number, go to their site and register, then download the traffic update, its free for a month but you wont be charged after that unless you want to continue, so in other words its free. Put the file on your phone and away you go. This update sorts out the issues they where having with tomtom mobile and the c500, though bear in mind the phone is still not supported by Tom Tom. As to what exactly the update does i dont know, i just know that Tom Tom will not work with the C500 without it. Perhaps one of the more techinically minded guys on here may be able to tell you exactly what the update does.
