How do I make these three talk? I click on the GPS icon, select SIRF Bluetooth, Bluetooth Serial port Com7,

devices all paired up but still the bluetooth device doesnt talk to Tom Tom?

Am I missing something?

Try using NMEA 9600 or NMEA 38400 rather than SiRF. For the Axim X50 the serial port is COM7:

The check box next to the protocol/port selection boxes must be checked for the port to be opened. Click the box so the tick is there, then switch back to the "Status" tab to see comms. progress. You should see "data" being transfered between the 'dish' and the TomTom PDA.

Which Axim do you have?

Is there anything else left to check ?

First, if the Axim is docked, remove it from the dock. I find that ActiveSync sometimes interferes with BT comms. Then to be sure that the BT ports aren't blocked in any way do a soft reset.

Open the BT Manager and select Tools->Paired Devices. Do you see "Clip-On BT GPS"?

If that's ok make sure BT is turned on, and the Clip-On is turned on. Then start TomTom GPS. TomTom GPS should ask you to choose a BT device unless you've set it to always use the Clip-On, select Clip-On BT GPS. Does the BT (blue) LED on the Clip-On start flickering? It should do to indicate data transfer.

If you select the GPS tab, what are the settings in the two drop-down boxes? Mine are "NMEA 0183v2 38400" and "Bluetooth Serial Port COM7:". The check box is checked.
