Just purchased a TomTom Navigation pack however wondering if I would not have been better of with the 610 instead after fafing about with it tonight (fancy the single unit approach of the Navman)

Only thing is I cant find much info on the web by way of reviews etc - ais this a new product and anyone able to offer some guidance?

The 610 replaces the iCN620, but has the capability of the remote control. You need to decide when you buy if you want all of Europe or just one region - all UK is a single region.

The other option if you want a dedicate nav unit is the 510. Not quite as good speaker and screen as the 610 (IMHO), but the 510 does have a battary, and it fits nicely into a pocket.

Hi there

I'm new to this forum !

I used to have TomTom Mobile, but after getting a new phone I have sold this.

Today I passed an electical store selling the Navman 610 for £245 (Heathrow Airside Dixons).

Is this unit comparable to a TomTom Go (I don't use the 3D maps, don't like them) ?

Also, is the voice navigation easy to understand or is it "computerised" ?

Finally, is it essentially the same as a 620 ?

Many thanks

Chris

Hi,

As stated above the 610 replaces the iCN620, comes with version 3 of the software and has the capability of an optional remote control.

If you would never use 3D maps then this unit is likely to be a good buy at £245 - as far as I am aware all it lacks in comparison to its more expensive brothers is the 3D map view.

You can find details of the 610 here

Its Dixons I have been looking at

just took back the IPAQ/tom tom package for the same price as it was too fidily and the staff in Dixons said it did have 3d view which I like, it was just the lack of touch screen that puts me off... but a heck of a lot cheaper than the other models..

Think I will try it and find out once and for all.

Cheers

Hi.......

Look around.surely I`m not the only one to have an iCN610 for £170 from Currys? the box was damaged(only found out when I got in the car, but hey, does everyone keep cardboard boxes?
The voices are very good, not digital, seem normal to me, the set is just very good for my use.
Ive done a lot of replies about the iCN610..do a search for me `chas921` there is lots of info available.
Take care
Chas
