Hi,
This is a “what if scenario”.
I have an IPAQ 2210 running TomTom Navigator 3. If I were unlucky enough to lose my 2210, or have it stolen, would anybody be able to determine the product code and activation code, by looking at the 2210?
What file contains the product code and activation code? Can it be read or is it encrypted?
If I did lose it, would I be allowed to use the same product code on a replacement PPC?
Thanks, |

Have a look in the AXS file
The same product code can only be used with ONE other Pocket PC, and only after at least 7 days from the first activation.
If your Pocket PC gets stolen and the thief keeps a backup of the AXS file then he/she can keep reinstalling the app to that Pocket PC - but not to any other device.
ALWAYS keep a copy of your product and activation codes - they come in handy when you need to report it to police. _________________ Lutz

Hi Lutz,
Thanks for the reply. I’ve had a look at the AXS file and it looks like it contains just the Activation Code and not the Product code.
I was worried that if my PPC was ever stolen, the thief could find the Product Code and use it. The worst case would be if/when we get to upgrade to the next version of TomTom Navigator and I wouldn’t be able to because my Product code was already used.
Many thanks for your help. |

You will however find that your product and activation codes are stored in your registry on your PC. |
