Hope someone can point me in the right direction, I seem to be having a "Thick Moment". I can only blame a dose of the flu, and a nagging toothache for the problem.

Anyway, I have a Palm T3 with Tomtom Navigator Version 4.400 installed. I have been trying to install the PocketGPSWorld.com Speed Camera Database but to no avail.

Can someone tell me exactly how I transfer the downloaded files to the correct directory on the SD card? Maybe I'm making hard work of this - or maybe I am really that stupid!

Many thanks in advance.

Graham

Just copy the required .ov2 and associated .bmp files into your Map directory

e.g.

\Great_Britain Navigator Map

You should then be able to enable/disable and addd warnings using the Maintain POI options

Hi Dave,

Many thanks for your response.

I have now managed to copy the .bmp and .ov2 files to the /TomTom Great_Britain Map/ directory however, when I go to "Enable/Disable POI" the new speed camera POI does not show up. I have tried deleting them and re uploading, and I have tried a soft reset, but still no joy.

Any more advice you could offer?

TIA

Graham

Graham

Okay I just tried doing exactly the same

and it did't work, I could only see the POIs I'd added previously

I moved all files from the diretory just leaving the original TomTom files as follows

cline.dat
cname.dat
cnode.dat
faces.dat
Great_Britain.mid
Great_Britain.pna
mapinfo.dat
poi.dat
setup.dat
traffic.dat

I downloaded the pocketgps_sc files again copied them into the map directory and it's working now :-S

will have to investigate what exactly was breaking it ?

Hi Dave

OK, I deleted all of the pocketgps_uk_etc.. files from the Map directory. That left the files you list above, plus:

tmcpaths.bfl
and
tmccodes.pr3

I moved those to another directory, re installed the Speed Camera POI files, but still no joy.

I then moved the above two files back to the Map directory, but still no joy!

Could this be anything to do with the fact that I am using the PalmOne Quick Install program to move the files to the PDA?

I will try and pick up a card writer tomorrow - at least it will streamline things a bit.

The other POI's all show as expected, and I can add a new POI category and place POI's into it via the "Maintain POI" utility.

TIA

Graham,

Ahhh, I've not had much luck with the Quick install program at all

I've been using an SD card reader/writer or Softick Card Export

http://www.softick.com/cardexport2/

I also suggest getting either Filez or FileProg for your Palm, both give you a 'file manager' type interface to allow you to manage files on the Palm and SD cards.

Hi Dave.

Bought a card reader/writer today - wow does that speed things up!

I am pleased to say that the speed camera POI now all show up OK. Looks like the Quick Install program was to blame.

Many thanks once again for your help.

Best regards

Graham
