Cannot obtain a GPS fix

Hi all,
After reinstalling TomTom , I can no longer obtain a fix on the GPS. I get 5 or 6 grey bars but they never turn red. Any suggestions what may be the cause?

Using Toshiba e740 and Fortuna CF Pocket Track attached to external antenna.
