Does any one know to whom and how errors in the Mapsonic maps should be reported? Having used the product for a few weeks I have identified a number of errors which would be good to get fixed for future releases. ViaMichelin simply thanked me for my commnets when I e-mailed their technical support and teleatlas (who I thought provided the base mapping data) do not include Mapsonic as an option on the error reporting page in their web site |

As far as I know they use TeleAtlas maps, so please use the TeleAtlas link in my signature. _________________ Lutz

Yeah, its got a teleatlas logo on the installation cd.. but you're right the site does not list mapsonic as an option....?
I've managed to find a whole list of errors just in my local area including being directed down a bus lane, down a footpath and down dead end road 8O . None of the errors were due to recent changes in road layouts. From the teleatlas link I do get the feeling that reporting them will be a waste of time but I'll give it a go... Just for interest the maps on mapopolis appear to be far better IMHO, I've not had any of the errors that I've had with Mapsonic, its not so pretty though! |

Mapopolis use Navteq maps - at least over here those are old but accurate (for what they show) . On the flipside Navteq are very slow to adjust to new development areas and road reconstructions.
It's all a question of resource and money - the Pocket navigation solutions are not expensive enough to warrant better surveying (or so they think) _________________ Lutz
