Hi, has there been any reviews etc of pocket pc gps software for use on a golf course? I am looking at getting www.mobilegolfscorer.com but there are a few similar systems around.

I use intelligolf ( http://www.intelligolf.com ) and Golfwits Pro ( www.golfwits.com ). They are both strong programs.

Golfwits has great looking course maps and is fairly easy to use, but the maps aren't free. If they don't have the course you want they will create it by request.

I find myself using the intelligolf most often. It's not as nice looking because it doesn't use maps, but it is a cleaner interface to use on the course. The drawback is that not all of the courses that you download are set up for the GPS because GPS support is fairly new. You'll probably end up having to survey your main courses yourself. It's no big deal and can be done fairly well during a normal round.

I confused a couple of programs... sorry. Golfwits does't support GPS. I meant StarCaddy (www.starcaddy.com).
