Hi

When I have set up an itinerary (route with a number of waypoints (drive by)and a finish) if auto re-planning is switched on, it tries to navigate me to the final destination, ignoring the waypoints.

If the auto re-planning is off, the planned route is visible and I can see my position, so it is workable but it isn't what I expected.

If I am doing something incorrectly, please let me know.

Has anyone produce a clear set of instructions for using itineraries - TomTom clearly haven't!

I wonder if you're selecting Navigate in the correct way. Unless you press the Navigate button in the Itinerary screen, Navigator 3 will probably just navigate you to your ultimate destination.
