Any One any ideas on how I can get tomtom to recognise where the maps are.
Installed TT3 on to Ipaq 3630 with syson CF memeory card.
software installed to card with maps installed to card as well. succesfully
But every time I Start TT it says the maps are not loaded. had problems with online registration.
is this a problem with registration or with the install
Please advise |

Hello and
This problem has been seen by various people. Assuming that you did install one or more maps, it can help to remove TomTom Wizard from your machine and start TomTom Navigator from the Start Menu. If you try that and it doesn't work, reinstall.

Hi,
I have the exact same problem:-( on my Qtek 9090. I have re-installed 3 times already with no luck.
I have also tried installing the wizard and now when I try to launch navigator, I don't even even get the spalsh screen !
Any suggestion? I'm a bit desesperated.
Note that I can get the connection to the GPS allrigth and fins out my position.
Thanks in advance. |

Where on your system are the map(s)?
I find no problems with Navigator 3.07 or 3.07T, the maps in \SD Card (which is the root folder of the SD card on my iPAQ hx4700) and no ignore_my_docs file on the card. I don't have the TomTom Wizard installed - things don't work if I do.

Okay, I downloaded the latest version from TomTom's web and have installed it and it is working now.
I thought that the CD I had in my TT package was 3.07 because it says "New ! Support for WM 2003 SE included"...
Also, I noticed that the downloaded version does not contain the Wizard (and something else, I think like Voice Command if I'm not mistaken). Could be that this is the reason why it works?
Not entirely clear but anyway, I'm glad it works now.
Thanks for your help! |

I had this same problem but it happened as follows.
Installed checkpoint - accidentally sync'd all the POI overlays. TomTom (v3) then wouldn't start because "too many overlay files). Went to the storage card and (very carefully) deleted irrelevant overlay files (eg. asda, BurgerKing etc etc). Then TomTom wouldn't start - said no maps installed. Copied map again from CD (it was already there!) and then everything worked fine.... odd! |
