Hi,

My Tomtom GPS unit broke, (very annoyed) about that so anyway I did a little research and decided that the Globalsat 338 was the best receiver for the job.

I've got it and paired it with my 7610 and named it "TomTom Wireless GPS", but when I start tomtom it just hangs.

I've looked into SIRF demo and switched it to SIRF mode (I think) but it still doesn't work.

Can anyone please help.

PS I have tried searching and read several posts but no luck, I also can;t find a sticky in the TomTom forum regarding this which is supposed to help.

Thanks Mark

First of all, slap your wrist for switching to SiRF mode. Then switch it back to NMEA 38400, and then unpair and re-pair the receiver. TomTom Mobile 5 will actually allow you to use non-TomTom receivers. You may be eligible for a free update

Laughing Out Loud, ok wrist slapped, and changed back to NMEA baud 38400.

I've deleted the pairing and re-established it and then renamed it again to 'TomTom Wireless GPS'.

But still no connection.

I've read about a patch available on TT website by subscribing to Traffic, I've just subscribed to that but can't find the patch for download.

I really wanted to use it at the weekend and all next week.

Any other ideas?
