Hey all!

Anyone know which cable I should get in order to use my etrex to feed signal to my ipaq? I would prefer a cable that charges the ipaq if possible.

Instructions on building it myself, or where to get a premade cable is fine.

Cheers!

You need to upgrade the 4150 to the latest ROM so it recognizes the COM1 port at the connector.

Then you need the 22 pin connector assembly - can be bought at ipaqrepair.com or other hardware shops. for example here http://www.gomadic.com/ip4leadprewc.html

I assume you do have the serial cable for the Garmin.

You can power the whole setup from a Y-cable that gets delivered with any of the serial GPS receivers. The only caveat is that normally these Y=cables come with a GPS receiver attached, so you would end up with two receivers ;-)

You can also adjust a standard iPAQ car charger to merge into the 22 pin cable.

GPEQ38 connects then and include car power for Ipaq (GPS must use batteries).

If you can wait a little longer (only DAYS from now) we will be releasing a bluetooth adapter for Garmin/Magellan GPS which allows your Garmin/Magellan GPS to be connected to PDA via bluetooth.
