Dear All,

I'm about to tool my ipaq 2210 up for use in car ( tom tom ) and for cycling with my push bike ( memory map ).

My dilemma is what GPS receiver to choose. I've read good reports on the SysonChip CF Plus XtracII and also on various Bluetooth receivers ( Emtac, Fortuna, Syson & Tom Tom).

My primary objectives in choosing a GPS receiver are the following :- Excellent GPS pin-pointing with minimal lag and lock-up (is bluetooth prone to this), maximising battery life when out in the field (& back-up battery options for bluetooth) and re-useability ( bluetooth will be 100%, CF dependent upon slot). My budget is around £120.

What do people think.

All opinions gratefully received.

JG

Hasn't this already been discussed here?

I have never experienced a lock-up or lag with Bluetooth GPS.

I was sort of thinking along the same lines of which to but, BUt wanted one that would be able to connect different ways.

So I bought the Haicom 303S which can connect 4 ways !

1. ins got an integrated CF interface (laptop or pda)

2. firewire/usb to (laptop or pda with $20 adapter)

3. you can buy the $50 bluetooth slipper later on and then its bluetooth.

pretty cool if you ask me
