|

i have installed checkpoint 3.. on my ipaq 5550 running tt3 it works fine i can refresh no problem, when i sync it starts fine then after a few seconds 'unknown error occured' shows on screen i have not been able to sync since install and have tried nearly all suggestions on the forum pages. also to record poi's i have set the hardware button, but when i came to post them on the poi site they where not registered on my ipaq i have found a number of 'saftey cameras' not previously shown and it would be a shame not to share this info with other people.
PLEASE CAN ANYONE HELP????? |

The first problem is likely that POIEdit has lost its idea of the state of ActiveSync. Check it's not still in the system tray - that's the collection of icons at the bottom right of your screen by the clock. If it is, right click and choose Exit - then establish a connection with ActiveSync, wait until synchronisation operations have finished, and try POIEdit again.
The second problem - CheckPOInt 3 is not good for submitting cameras to the Pocket GPS World database. If you have input synchronisation details for POIplace, you have to submit to POIplace, then use the POIplace web site to get a list of what you've submitted there to submit it to us. If you haven't input synchronisation details for POIplace, the cameras are recorded in CheckPOInt.ov2 - but without any details on the type of camera.
If you want to submit POIs to us, you're better off using CheckPOInt 2.0.2 - which has no POIplace functionality, but does put full details of recorded POIs in CheckPOInt.ov2.

Exactly where are you seeing that error? Speed camera 70 is not, to my knowledge, one of our POI files - though it may be a POIplace one.

I was thrown off by you posting this in the POI-Sync forum, which is really for the Pocket GPS World POI-Sync service, not the CheckPOInt POIplace service.
I'm afraid my knowledge of POIplace is very limited as I don't use it - maybe someone else can help.
