Laughing

I use a 2210 ipaq with tom tom 3
I also use checPOInt and the speed camera database to help keep me on the right side of legal.

I nave just downloaded the new version of the speed cam DB and now i can't find how to remove the old version in order to install the new file package.

once the file pack is installed, is it just a case of re assigning the 30 secs and 10secs warnings.

please help!!!!!!!!!!!!

You will find a .bmp file and a corresponding .ov2 file, for each of the different cameras.

You need to put these in the Great_Britain folder on your storage card. I usually use Activesync.

Then you need to run Checkpoint - all you will see is an Icon on the bottom of the Today screen. Click on it and then click on Overlay settings. Highlight the Speed camera POIs one by one and click on properties. Fairly self explanitory after that.

Fantastic

Don't know why I was getting confused, the way you explained it was simple.

I deleted the 2 old speed cam files and added the new ones ov2 and bmp files for the

redlight
specs
gatso
mobile

cameras, i don't think i'll use the continetal files on the ipaq.

seems to show the cams Ok, i'm off into the midlands on sunday, so it'll have a full test Smile

One thing I've never made my version of checkPOInt do, is to tell me speed limits....can the early 2.something version do this?

If you look at properties for the speed cameras there is a tab that will let you set the speed limit warnings next to the tabs where you set the camera warning tabs. You have to make up or download appropriate files but then you will get the speed limits for the cameras.

I do have some wav files with speed limit, and i've seen the properties screen where it has the speed limits.

But how does it know the speed limit of the particular Gatso?

the roads with gatso's in my area range from 30 up 70 and just linking the gatso overlay to a 30mph limit is going to go potty if i drive at 50 on a NSL road.

The PocketGPSWorld UK Speed Camera database does not have the speed limit data for the cameras at present. They are working to include it, so expect to see it in a future release. What will happen (I guess) is that they will include a number of sets of POIs, e.g. gastsos_30mph, gatsos_40mph, etc.

Personally, I set the speed-sensitive warning to 30mph just to avoid those annoying alerts when crawling in traffic. But I always have a final warning at 10 seconds, just in case (for example, I may have speeded up since the speed-sensitive warning was triggered).

Hmmmmm, is this something else I've missed?

I don't recall ever seeing anything about speed sensitive warnings on checkPOInt 2.0.2

Am i doing something wrong?
