I am planning to get a Sys On chip CF unit (because of the quick TTfs and the review), I have an IPAQ 2210 and run Tom Tom 3.03 with the latest Tom Tom GPS drivers.

I can see that there are lots of problems with the SysonChip CF card and the 2210 and TT3 combination, have these all now been resolved? What is the resolution to the problems and what do I need to put in the settings to make this combination work?

All help will be appreciated

The issue is from XTrac v1 and only seen at fast acceleration or deceleration or when there are close proximity of roads in parallel when you are having difficulty receiving a strong signal.

This isn't a large problem, although people believe as it's not a '100% perfect' solution, it's rubbish which I disagree with.

However, saying that there is a new version of XTrac 2.0.2 that is loaded into the new CF Plus cards, so if it has a sticker on it saying XTII then you should have the latest version of XTrac 2.0.2 which is more reliable in terms of not having TomTom jump you to an adjacent road.

Unless a retailer isn't selling the cards in which case you may find you will get an older X1 card. Unfortunately there's no way of assuring you are going to get an X2 card unless you call the company and ask them to confirm what version they have (sticker on box).

I have this combination including the Plus 2 card bought on Ebay. I can confirm it works fine and I am very happy with it. One minor consideration- if you have the TomTom car kit and a particularly sloped windscreen, The height of the 2210 and the card can cause the PDA to be mounted tilted downwards. I am looking at a air vent solution at the moment.

I bought one yesterday, (even though I already have 2 other CF receivers and a bluetooth one 8O ), should be here tomorrow morning.

GlobalPositioningSystems advertise it as being the latest Xtrac 2 version, http://www.globalpositioningsystems.co.uk/viewprod.php?product_id=687

Hopefully these trees shouldnt be a problem anymore Smile

My SysOn Chip CF GPS Plus 2 arrived this morning, usual excelent service from global positioning systems, its working perfectly with my 2210 and TT3. Make sure you select NMEA 4800 and not SysOn Chip CF GPS Plus in the driver settings, as the LED on the receiver lights up but TomTom doesnt like to talk to it.

Seems theres no lag at all, and had no problem picking up a full compliment of sats under the trees in the garden.

Its got a 3 sat lock as I write this, with 4 other sats in view, and its about 6 foot away from the window in the room of my house!

Sorry, ignore that, just re-installed GPS driver 3.07 instead of 2.07 and it works perfectly on that setting.
