Hi everyone,

I bought a bluetooth Rikaline 6030 gps receiver and try to use it with my MDA II since last weekend... But unfortunately I couldn't manage to sort it out...

I downloaded and installed the bluetooth software which allows me to assign a com port for my Rikaline. I tried it with com 4,5 and 7 (these are the only available ones, no com 8...) lots of times with different com and hardware settings in my tomtom gps software (btw which doesn't include Rikaline 6030) I just managed to see the time and just once 4 sat.s locked... This was the only time I managed to see some coordinates. In 10 minutes it was gone either. I cannot run my Tomtom Nav 3 software properly of course... My MDA connects to the gsp device (rikaline 6030), reads the time (sometimes reads it incorrectly as well) tries and manages to find and lock to 2 at most 3 sat.s sometimes... But hardly get a proper signal to be enough to run the software...

What do you recommend. Is there anyone out there who has the same combination of software and hardware and solved this problem... Or at least any other recommendations/thoughts ? Shall I try or change some settings... Or maybe shall I buy an external antenna for the device ???

Your help will be very much appreciated.. Thanks very much in advance...

Hello and welcome to the forum.

(Please try not to triple post)

- what software did you download and use to assign COM ports? (This is normally not required)

- can you use the receiver with other GPS software (Crux_View for example)? What version of the TomTom GPS driver is installed? (Some of the newer versions are known to cause trouble)
