Within the BlueGPS settings I have "Degraded Mode" checked within the Navigation tab. Is this what I want? What does this do? I've pretty much left everything at the default settings and all is well however "Degraded" sounds, well, degraded!

Degraded mode is likely to be to do with the behaviour when the GPS finds itself with insufficient satellites received to derive a position from. There's various options in many chipsets, including the SiRF chipset that many Bluetooth GPSes are based on.

They range from 'as soon as you've lost satellite lock, indicate it' to 'for up to 30 seconds keep on outputting what you believe is the best estimate of the right position based on the recent history of direction and speed and those satellites you still have'.
