Hi,
I recently took the plunge and bought some gps kit to give myself in-car sat nav.
I installed TomTom Navigator 3 on my iPAQ, and started it up - no maps installed - very strange I thought, but undetered I looked on the CD and found what looked like map files, and copied them into the "TomTom Navigator" folder on my SD card. I tried starting TomTom again and hey presto, all working fine. (and very very impressive I must say)
I then added a football POI file that I downloaded from this site, and that went on fine.
Perhaps getting a little too confident I looked on the TomTom site to see if any updates were available. I saw that v3.03 was the latest patch, so I downloaded that and installed it. I then started TomTom and it came back with the error I had originally, no maps found. I have 3 TomTom related folders folders on my SD card - TomTom ~ GPS, TomTom Navigator & TomTom Navigator Voice. I do not have any map subdirectory anywhere. I have tried copying the map files (as I did the first time) into each of these folders without any success.
I have a couple of questions...
- Does my file structure look correct?
- Should a map subdirectory exist, and where should it live?

No, you should have sub-dirs called "Great_Britain Navigator Map" and, if you installed it, "Major_Roads_Of_Europe Navigator Map" on your storage card.
Why did you manually copy maps from the CD? Didn't you get a menu option to install maps in additional to installing TT?
