Have iPAQ h1940, Bluetooth, 128M sd card and Tomtom 3 since last Friday so am very much a newbie to Pocket PCs, Bluetooth and GPS.

Set up ActiveSync using USB to Desktop PC - resonably easy.
Installed Tomtom3 - resonably easy.
Browsed Pocket PC from PC and installed ukpostcodes - all fine.
Browsed Internet from iPAQ (Desktop Broadband Connection) - fine.
Ran TT3 at home - very impressed since we live on a small un-named lane.

Yesterday tried TT for real - worked very well.

This morning I wanted to set up my iPAQ via Bluetooth modem on Nokia - this connected ok after re-reading the manual and pairing the Bluetooth devices.

Having more or less achieved all I might need to do at the moment I reconnected the iPAQ via USB to my desktop. Now I cannot reconnect the Activesync - I get a long message about my communications port not being available and another program may be using it.

Please can someone tell me what I need to do now. Am I asking too much of my iPAQ to skip about with Navigation use and office type apps at the same time?

On the Pocket PC , open ActiveSync, go to Tools > Options and verify that the connection is made via 'USB and to the right machine

also, in active sync, go to connection settings and disable "allow serial/infrared from this COM port".
