Not sure if this is a fault or what,

I have an SPV C500, TTM, V4.43, latest speed cam update installed and showing on map ok,

When is checked, with no route calculated, just driving around, it does not warn me of approaching cameras whatever distance i set it to, if i have TT calculate a route it will warn me of cameras ok.

If i uncheck the box it will work ok with or without a calculated route, but will detect all cameras either side of road.

The way i understood it was that if you checked the 'warn if poi is on route' box it would detect the cameras on your side of the road wether you had a route calculated or not, or does it mean that it will only detect cameras on the route that TT calculated.

Also i have read on here about peoples success and failures with mini sd cards, i bought a cheap generic brand (adata i think) 256mb mini sd card from eclipse computers for about £18.70 ish, just wanted to get up and running and they are local, had no problems whatsoever.

Thanks.

Thanks.

That line is supposed to read - When 'warn if poi is on route' is checked,

Hi mark5290,

I believe that if you check the “warn if poi is on route” box then your will only be warned of cameras on the route. If you have no route planned then there will be no cameras on route – because there is no route, thus you will not get alerts. Sad

It is best to uncheck the “warn if poi is on route” box. It does mean that you will occasionally have false alerts for cameras on the other side of a dual carriageway or even on nearby roads, but you will get all cameras on your side of the road.

A few of the cameras in the PGPSW database, are slightly “off road”, if you see any that aren’t on the road then please send an email in describing the camera’s proper location.

Regards,

Thanks Privateer for the reply, yes that is what appears to be happening when i have been testing this function, i do not mind getting false alerts, better than having none.

The only reason i asked was because dynamo posted the reply below to bobhig who wanted to know how to download and install the speed camera database-

"When you start TTM the next time the new POI's should now be listed. You can then turn on POI warnings, but when it asks you 'warn only if POI is on route?' select yes otherwise it will warn you about all nearby speedcameras too."
